Always remember that any child with a disability or special needs, is a child first of all. Any condition they may have should always come second.

Early Support Pilot Programme

In May the DFES announced plans to put £1 million pounds towards practical support for young people with disabilities up to the age of two and their parents,
This Early Support Programme is being aimed in particular at deaf children but a third of the funding will be targeted at broader projects aimed at children with other special needs.
Initiatives likely to benefit will include those.
Promoting early identification and help for those in need of language development support.
Promoting better information to parents concerning services available to them.
Encouraging better inter-agency working that promotes better co-ordination services for disabled children.
