Special needs services Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospital School · All children who attend the centre are between the ages of 2and 5 years and have a medical condition some children may have a statement of Special Educational Need. · It will be regarded that further assessment is needed to determine an appropriate future School where the child feels welcome and belongs. · They will: · Keep parents and carers well informed about their Childs progress and activities in the centre. · Foster early learning and play skills by setting targets for each Childs stage of development. Targets are reflected in the Individual Education Plan. · Provide opportunities for all children to develop communication skills. This may include sign, supported English, British Sign Language, communication boards and computer technology. · Help a child settle into their new school. Arrangement for a child’s attendance are flexible a combination of sessions can be arranged.
