Social Care Direct
Wakefield Social Care aims to help the most vulnerable members of the
community by providing a wide variety of services to meet their needs.
Social Care Direct is a dedicated Social Work team who will be your first point of contact if you think you may need social care services. Social Care Direct deals with new requests for Social care services within Wakefield Metropolitan District.
The service is available is available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday morning 8am to 12 noon.
How can it help?
When you contact the helpline a worker will then ask you for the details
of you enquiry and depending on the details you give will either:
Provide you with information.
Provide you with advice and guidance.
Take your information and then get the appropriate Social Care Team to contact you to fully assess your needs and discuss the best way to help
Redirect you to a more appropriate source to deal with your problem.
If your problem is urgent you will be referred quickly to the appropriate
Social Care Team.
Social Care Direct will also respond in emergency situations after usual
opening hours (5pm - 8am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday
and Bank Holidays).
